More rejections as a feedback mechanism! (31st July, 2024)

I recently received a rejection. It's a bit bitter and hard not to take it personally. However, a rejection is a valuable feedback mechanism. With this, you learn that something didn't work out. It's a good signal to start asking yourself: why? Oftentimes, a rejection occurs in a form of binary decision and no explanation, so you need to figure it out yourself.

And in many cases, there is a mismatch between yourself and the external environment. If the problem majorly comes from on your end, you may mitigate it. If the external environment does not fit you, it might be time to move to a different environment, rather than making an effort to change the environment.

Another important aspect of rejections is, people are so afraid of rejections, resulting in less attempts for some opportunities beside you. This is especially the case with me, having a Japanese cultural background. With those factors, the number of attempts I would make is largely discounted. Okay, so the word to myself: increase your attempts, let's face rejections, think about why and take corrective actions. And last but not least, "fun-theory." Enjoy the process, too!
